So, it’s happening. I really am writing again! And given that I’ve been MIA for quite a while, I think it’s only appropriate to give you an overview of my life lately. Not gonna lie, this was supposed to be just a typical blog where I write things of relevance in paragraphs. But unfortunately, my thoughts were all over the place, that I didn’t even know where to begin. I was just seriously staring at my computer for a good couple of hours, switching from one playlist to another, until I finally gave in to how my thoughts flow. So, here’s how it goes:

1.) As I’ve said in my previous post, I’m currently working in the government. And TBH, I never imagined myself working here until I actually did. And I kinda like it. This was my first ever “grown up” job where people finally stopped treating me as a child. I guess, working along side public officials and other legislative staff made me fit right in, or maybe I’m just starting to look older than I used to. :( oh well, rather than that, so far so good. I guess I took comfort from that fact that it’s a typical 9-5 job which leaves a lot of room for my other activities such as school.
2.) And speaking of… In January of 2017, I enrolled myself to graduate school. And it’s a different kinda feeling – knowing that you’re sending yourself to school. It just gave me a whole anotha' level of appreciation for education. And as of today (August 2018), I'm already done taking my comprehensive exams – the final academic requirement before I could graduate. So, if all else goes as expected, by January of 2019, I will be a Master’s Degree holder! And by then, I can consider this as the greatest investment I made in my 20s.
3.) Found a new kind of love in a not-so-new person. If you know what I mean. ;)
4.) I’m still pretty much into make-up and anything beauty-related. But I decided few months ago to invest more on skincare rather than on make-up. And I still stand by it. Don’t get me wrong though, I still splurge on make-up. It’s just that I pay more attention to my actual skin now.
5.) Oh, and WATER. This is so random, but I used to be the type of person who never drinks water. I would normally run on coffee or softdrinks. Eww, I know. And when I finally realized how unhealthy it was (actually, my bf made me realize), it was very easy for me to give up softdrinks and all the unnecessary sugar that goes with it. But coffee… hmm I don’t think I could give it up just yet. Right now, my love affair with coffee just keeps running deep.

6.) Met a lot of new people from work and from grad school. But I still pretty much get with the same people from 10 years ago. I guess it's true what they say, you really meet your life-long friends in high school. From awkward adolescent days, to our walwal nights (way before walwal was even a thing), to our current quarter life crises – together we just make everything a little bit more interesting.
7.) If I'm being completely honest, my life isn't as picturesque as these photos depict to be. Just this year, I lost two important people to cancer and to depression. And everyday it's a struggle trying to keep up with life. Adulting really ain't easy, especially now that I've come to a point where financial security and tenure should be a priority. It just made decision-making a little bit more complicated nowadays. But baby steps, baby steps. :)
8.) I think writing really helps me sort my thoughts out. Be it on my planner or just a plain checklist on my phone – writing just feels really therapeutic for me. So, you can look forward (or not) to more babbling of mine in the days to come. And on the rare days that I'm out of words or when words just aren't enough, I'll probably just make a montage or a short visual diary to make sure that this site is always relevant. :)
So, 'til next time!
Love, B
